Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The RCIA is the liturgical and catechetical process designed for adults attracted by Christ and his teaching. It supports them as they seek to respond more deeply and to enter into the Communion of the Church.
The Centre for Catholic Formation provides training to those running the RCIA process in parishes and organises the liturgical celebrations that make the Rite's progress in the diocese - the Rite of Election and the Mass for New Catholics (Neophytes). For more information on the training we provide and on the RCIA itself, please get in touch with the Centre. Our designated adviser for the RCIA is Sebastian Morello.
Below are a selection of three recordings from the Upholland UNITAPE Online Catalogue which features over 800 recordings of the Upholland Northern Institute lectures taped between 1975 and 1988. This small selection particularly relates to the RCIA.
RCIA in Practice: Implementing the Rite
This Guide elucidates the Rite; and is intended to be used alongside it. Its recommendations reflect the experience of implementing the RCIA in the diocese since it became normative for this country over twenty years ago.
