Rite of Election and the Call to Continuing Conversion

The Rite of Election and the Call to Continuing Conversion is an integral and joyous part of diocesan life; a part which the Centre for Catholic Formation takes great pride in organising. This year saw 212 catechumens (those who are seeking Baptism and the other sacraments of initiation) and 177 candidates (those, already baptised, who are preparing to receive Confirmation and Eucharist) gather on Saturday 4 March 2017 at the Metropolitan Cathedral Church of St George, Southwark.

The Archbishop presided at the service, assisted by Bishop Pat Lynch, Bishop Paul Hendricks and Bishop Paul Mason, along with Monsignor Matthew, the Vicar General, and Deacon Peter Littleton. The diocesan choir, animated by Canon Alan McLean and Mag Shepherd, helped to provide a wonderful atmosphere which was warmly appreciated by those who gathered.
