An invitation from Archbishop Peter

Four years ago, the clergy of the Diocese had the opportunity to meet with me and the Area Bishops in Merville. It was a time to pray together, to socialise and also to reflect on the spirituality and practical implications of stewardship. The week together, away from the daily responsibilities of work, was generally felt to be a very fruitful and positive initiative in fostering a shared sense of mission, fellowship and mutual support.

In 2017, 3 separate weeks will be held at Merville. These weeks are intended to provide the chance for shared prayer, time together and for constructive reflection on our ministry. A specially invited speaker will facilitate our discussions on the holy Father’s post-synodal apostolic exhortation, Amoris Laetitia. Such an exploration would have, I believe, significant benefits for the life of the Diocese.

I warmly invite you, Reverend Fathers and Deacons, to Merville in 2017 and ask that you make every effort to join me on one of these forthcoming weeks. I am confident the Merville sessions will be a worthwhile, positive and fruitful experience for us all.
