On Going Formation (OGF) Secretary and Centre Secretary (CCF)

Hours: 4 to 5 days per week with occasional weekends/evenings

Salary: Around £20,000pa depending on experience (pro rated if part time)

We are now looking for an experienced and capable secretary to serve both the Centre for Catholic Formation (2 to 3 days per week) and to support the work of the diocesan Ongoing Formation of Priests Committee (2 days per week). This job comprises two distinct roles and the applicant will need to be well organised and diligent.

Located at Tooting Bec and reporting to the Director of CCF/OGF, this role is a member of the CCF team and will be required to work collaboratively with colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have extensive secretarial in a professional environment with evidence of ability to work effectively under minimal supervision. Up-to-date technology skills, including websites and social media is essential, as is a working knowledge of the Catholic church.

Adviser for Catechesis and Adult Formation in Kent

Salary range - £30,000 to £35,000 pa depending on skills and experience.

Accountable to the Director, the job will involve planning and organising specific conferences/events and courses for Kent parish or deanery clergy, catechists and others involved in parish ministry; assisting in teaching/delivery of specific courses; working closely with local clergy to encourage the appointment and formation of local catechists and co-ordinators of particular areas of catechesis (eg RCIA); advising on materials and resources for RCIA, catechesis and adult formation; participating in and contributing to CCF Study and Prayer Days; building good relationships with other diocesan agencies and ecumenical and inter religious relationships.

The ideal candidate will be a practising Catholic with previous experience in catechesis and/or adult formation. He/she will have previous experience in the design and delivery of educational materials and have outstanding communication skills at all levels. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential. This is a full time role which will include working some evenings and weekends. Resource Assistants (x2)

Hours (per Assistant): 15 hours per week in term time only and will include some evenings and weekends.

Salary: £10.00 - £12.00 per hour depending on skills and experience.

Accountable to the Director, the Resource Assistants will seek to revitalise and run the bookshop as well as developing an online sales offering via the Centre website. They will also promote the resources on offer at the CCF both through print and social media. In addition, they will help to organise and run events.

Although training will be provided, the ideal candidate will already have good IT skills especially in relation to presentations, social media and websites. He/she will also have excellent communication skills and some experience of catechesis, children’s liturgy or educational work with adults and/or children and an informed understanding of Church teaching.
