Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Taster Day

  • Centre for Catholic Formation 21 Tooting Bec Road London, England, SW17 8BS United Kingdom (map)

You are warmly invited to join us at the Centre for Catholic Formation to find out more about this profound method which is proving to be extraordinarily fruitful in enabling young children throughout the world to interiorise the Word of God and enter more fully into the Mass.

Come and experience the sacred environment prepared with beautiful hands-on materials and witness how the scriptural and liturgical presentations are offered to children. There will be time for Q&A and to chat informally over coffee with trained catechists who have been using Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) with children in the UK.

The taster day is for:

  • priests considering introducing CGS in their parish;

  • catechists who may wish to take up CGS training at the Centre;

  • families, especially parents who may be interested in registering their 3/4 year-old child for a Catechesis place at the CCF in September.

We invite you to attend any one of the four 75-minute sessions. Please book a particular session in advance, via the form below or by calling 020 8672 7684

"My five children aged 3-14 participated in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in New Malden for a couple of years. It was a wonderful experience. Each of them benefited from the catechesis in a unique way. It was deep, rich, and fruitful, and enabled them to engage in the mysteries of our faith in a way that is hard to describe or express. Even now, several years later, they are bearing the fruit of this experience in their lives -- in their prayer language, their experience of God's love, and their engagement with the Bible and the liturgy. I wish that they had all been able to start this work earlier, and continue it for longer. I wholeheartedly recommend this catechesis."

Elizabeth, Ealing

"I am confident that the encounter with the Good Shepherd experienced by 3-6 year olds I witnessed in the atrium will stay with them their whole life.'

Mary Maye, CGS catechist, Clapham
