This conference will bring together speakers who are leaders in the New Evangelization to provide inspiration, encouragement, training, practical wisdom and resources on how Catholics can effectively evangelize. All Catholics – pastors, missionaries, lay ministers, and the lay faithful – will benefit immensely from this powerful opportunity to be further equipped in the fundamental mission of the Church.
The Global Summit Day (GSD 2019) is a replay of NES 2019 (that took place on 4 May 2019) for Host Sites outside of North America (or those within who were not available on 4 May 2019). Those who participate in GSD 2019 will unite in spirit with the other Host Sites around the world who are participating together in viewing the Summit.
The Archdiocese of Southwark will be hosting three Global Summit Days this year. The three host sites are reasonably well placed throughout the archdiocese:
Centre for Catholic Formation, Tooting Bec, London SW17 8BS
St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Church parish hall, 12 Granville Rd, Sevenoaks TN13 1ER
St Paul’s Catholic Church parish hall, 103 Maison Dieu Rd, Dover CT16 1RU
St. John Paul II recognized the immense need for the Church to re-evangelize herself. Thus, while the Church needs to continue her missionary activity by bringing the Gospel to non-Christian lands and peoples, the Church also needs to bring the Gospel to those who have been baptized but are not converted. Evermore in the West we see signs of decay as people fall away from the life-giving practice of the Catholic faith. Thus the New Evangelization is directed specifically toward these people – those who are baptized but not living a sacramental life of grace.
